DAY 20!

4 weeks went fast!

This morning I did a 2.3 mile run (which is notable because I seem to have a mental block around the 1.5 mile point).
I also started to read MREI and decided I needed a break from All Real Estate, All The Time, so I read some parenting articles.  They made me smile.  Today I'm going to follow this advice:

Play with your children. Let them choose the activity, and don't worry about rules. Just go with the flow and have fun. That's the name of the game.
Schedule daily special time. Let your child choose an activity where you hang out together for 10 or 15 minutes with no interruptions. There's no better way for you to show your love.
(AND)
Gossip about your kids. Fact: What we overhear is far more potent than what we are told directly. Make praise more effective by letting your child "catch" you whispering a compliment about him to Grandma, Dad, or even his teddy.

I also reflected that this is sort of like a drug - it's newness makes it awesome.  I go to bed feeling so accomplished.  But once I make it part of the routine, will I start mentally feeling like I should be doing more?  Hmmmm?

Along the same lines - I'm totally in love with the scenery here and the rural life.  I had to go away and live elsewhere to really appreciate it.  Hello cowsies and horsies!
