Finding the time

Is it strange that I find going back to work less stressful than being home with the girls?  That's an easy question - I only feel that way because I don't have any crazy projects going on. I can actually use the time at work to tackle both work and life stuff, without distractions.  It makes me a saner  person.  Today I wrote Thank You notes, ordered a baby gift for a friend, and balanced my bank account while simultaneously taking mandatory company safety training.  (Actually, the first aid refresher was quite useful.  The construction site stuff was not so much up my alley.)  I'm going to empty the dishwasher and have a cup of coffee before I get Lil and Eve, and otherwise prepare myself to be a better parent before they get home.  I guess I need to get groceries for dinner during that trip as well...

This weekend Matt and I had an awesomely relaxing weekend which was the direct result of not making any concrete plans.  We spent Friday night at home and Saturday morning working in the garage while the wee ones played out front with all the neighbors.  Saturday afternoon we drove out to help Elaine and Alan unpack from their move to Celebration - now they only live 1.5 hours away and RIGHT NEXT TO Disney, so we'll be sure to visit them often. :)

Sunday we again hung out in the garage and worked on the closet doors.  It's a very slow and steady process, but I found myself thinking at one point how lucky I am to have a husband that enjoys doing the same things I do.  Spending a few hours constructing something while the kids play nearby - that's awesome.  I know it's not for everyone, but it makes us happy.  I also got to take Amy out to lunch for her birthday.  So this is life at 32 for me.  This is what makes me tick.  Work is good, family is good, but I need the work and the life for a balance.

(I totally stole this from an email I sent to Julie. :) )

PS - I really hope I find time to blog about all the Master Bath projects we've done.  They make me proud. :)
