Lunch Break!
I'm eating a delicious Mexican based rice/beans dish that I made last night using a recipe and then a bunch of leftovers in my fridge. I'm so proud of myself for making something useful AND tasty!
Another awesome highlight of my semi-frugal kick - shopping at Goodwill. Shakes and Sarah inspired me when they were here at New Years with their second-hand warddrobe. So last Friday I had the day off with Eve. She was kind enough to sleep through my 2.5 hour shopping excursion where I tried on *at least* 100 items of clothing. I kid you not. I loaded up that stroller 3 times until it was practically tipping over, and then I spent about 30 minutes trying stuff on before I headed back out for more. In the end, I bought 10 shirts, 2 pairs of pants, 2 pairs of capris, and 2 skirts for a grand total of $70!!! That's $4.37 each. Ri-freakin-diculous. Mostly they're work stuff - semi-casual Florida wear, since I insist on dressing like an adult for the day, even if it's just me in this cozy little home office.
Speaking of home office, it's going much better than expected. I think I'm even more accountable here, so far. I make sure I come upstairs at the same time every day, take a break at 10 for coffee, usually make my lunch and keep working (but not today. Today I need a mental break because work is very detail oriented at the moment.) And then I don't leave till the end of the day. If only I could figure out the desk/chair/monitor configuration so that my right shoulder stops hurting...
And back to work!
