iPad

I'm not an Apple hater.  I like the sleek pretty look of the iPhones and yes, even the iPads.  I think the interface is nice.  And while my inner shopaholic says 'PRETTY PRETTY PRETTY BUY BUY BUY!' (Or to quote Buffy "Want?  Take.  Have!" - sorry Mal )  I'm just not sure that spending $800 (or even $300 for the phone) is justified.  I spend all day on the computer, at night I've got my laptop if I want to sit on the couch and surf, and when I'm out and about, I can use my blackberry, but I honestly try to keep that to a minimum (usually finding directions).  Do you know that sometimes at night, when Brynna has gone to bed and I finally get down time, I grab my computer... and can't figure out what to look at. And since I'm already paying for wifi at home, and a data plan on my phone (well, work pays for that), I can't see the need for one more gadget.

I guess I'm just gadget-whelmed.  I want less electronics that do more.  The iPhone is *just* about able to replace my phone, camera, and mp3 player.  (But the camera is still not up to par.  And I don't want to use iTunes.)  The iPad seems like it could replace the laptop. (Except how would it do with my part-time lover Excel?  And Quicken?)  Maybe next year...
