Unhappy thoughts

I would love to regale you with stories of our amazing Halloween party this weekend, but I've had such incredibly sad news that I can't possibly pretend it didn't happen. A friend from WPI, Ryan Wartman, that I recently reconnected with is going through what can only be called hell. About 2 months ago his mom passed away. Last week his long-time girlfriend died in her sleep for reasons unknown. She was traveling on business, and was 24. I just don't get it. Jen is the sweetest girl. She was a freshman on the swim team when I was Captain... It's so incredibly awful that I can't wrap my mind around it...

  1. Oh, Beka. I'm so sorry. I know sorry just doesn't cut it in situations like this. The sentiment seems so shallow considering the depth of the sadness that you, Ryan, and Jen's family must be feeling.

No one should ever have to feel the grief of losing someone close to them, whether it's a parent, a girlfriend, or a long lost friend. I know you have many people in your life to chat with, but you know my phone/inbox are always on and open to you.

    Love and hugs,
    Birgs
