Week 27
Spring is in the air (and so is rain), and I am happy. Seriously, I've reached the end of my tolerance for crappy lingering winter weather. It's time to open up the windows and let a new season in! I've decided (I'm pretty sure I decided this last Spring too) to plant a container garden on my front porch. Last year I only managed 3 railing planters that couldn't quite handle the heat (and my neglect), but this year I've done a little bit more research and hope to improve the lushness and at least double the number of plants. Hooray!!!
This week has been a good one. The workload has been a little light (which leads to boredom and usually shopping, but I've been pretty good so far). Tuesday night I had a long overdue fiddle lesson and proved to Eilis that pregnancy has indeed made me forgetful. It was a good hour of lots of laughs and butchered tunes... :) Wednesday night I worked a college fair for WPI and got to bond with a current undergrad who gave me lots of updates on the social scene at my alma mater. And last night we went over to dinner at my boss's place to welcome a new employee. It was a nice evening of shmoozing and tasty food, not to mention that it was about 75 degrees yesterday and GORGEOUS! The view out over Boston from his 11th floor condo was spectacular too.
On the family front: My amazing doctor sister finally got fed up with her current boss during her exit interview and called him a compulsive liar (I'm so proud of her) and then got a little bit fired the next day. Well done! It's only a little bit fired because she's already got a new job lined up for next month, now she just doesn't have to deal with his crap for the rest of this month. To steal a line - the whole situation leaves me feeling "just tickled". :P
And as for this weekend... not much planned tonight or the day tomorrow, but I'm hosting some undergrads for dinner tomorrow. Sunday we're heading over to Sheridan's for some tasty cooking, and then heading up to Portsfoot NH to see Kevin Burke play. Belly pics from last week are posted. Pics from Naomi's birthday celebration (a fabulous drunken debacle at Picco's Restaurant and then Clery's in Back Bay) and Malinda's wedding should be posted this weekend. :)

Love the new blog design. Hate to sound like a grandma, but it is nice to be able to read the text without squinting. :-)
ReplyDeleteYour social schedule makes me anxious. If I had all of that to do, I would have to hit the wine.
The only thing I try to plan is my daily nap.
Keep updating the preggo pics.
Miss y'all!
