I WANT TO WORK FOR GOOGLE DAMNIT
So yesterday Shakes had his site interview with Google down in NYC. Apparently their office is awesome and insane. (check the link. "apparently guitar hero is the googlers favorite game." NICE!) They have a lounge with video game systems set up, a free cafe with a personal chef, and scooters for employees to ride around the office. But I digress. When he got home at like 10 he and I sat down with a glass of wine and proceeded to finish off nearly 2 bottles while discussing sex, marriage, Massachusetts legislature (and same sex marriage, go figure), President Bush, and porn even. It was a good time, but at like 1:30 I had to call it quits. Now today I feel totally sick. Ugh.
SO! I'm finally getting active about learning to fiddle. I found a teacher near my work, and I asked her about buying the fiddle - $1000!!!! Of course, I'm rationalizing it many ways, such as "I'm learning! And if I were going to take a grad class it would cost at least twice that!", and "Any new serious hobby costs about that much. Just think about snowboarding!" So today I'm going to buy my fiddle (violin). And as soon as teacher lady can fit me in, I'm going to begin my life as a serious musician. HA! The nice part is that they offer financing, and for the first year it is interest free. So, I've calculated that lessons and fiddle payment will cost me $210/month. Good thing I just paid off my car (and hopefully will be selling it soon)
