Stayin' Alive
First, I'm psyched that I can still blog while underway. Yay for me! We've now been gone for over 2 weeks and we've still got many to go. On the up side, we pulled in to St. Marten this past weekend and had a FANTASTIC time... I'll just pull a few stories from the email I sent out and that way i don't have to type as much :)
....
On Saturday we grabbed a cab and asked him to take us to our hotel – the Orient Bay. So he drops us off and says “just walk up the beach and your hotel is right there”. So we start walking and realize – it’s a naked beach! Nakedness everywhere! I’m so glad I had my sunglasses on… I just put my head down and kept walking, but I was trying so hard not to giggle. There are 3 of us trudging through this sea of nakedness, completely clothed, with bags on our backs, and I hear someone say “you’re overdressed!” of course I burst out laughing at that…
Then we finally get to the hotel and realize – naked people everywhere! Naked laundry, naked restaurant, naked picture posing! We look up at the sign and it says Orient CLUB! So we go and find the right hotel which luckily is full of fully clothed people. Phew!
Then the next day I’m sitting out on the beach with friends from the ship in my nice new bathing suit when all the sudden – snap! My top comes unclasped in the back. Luckily I catch it in time and have maura fix it and go back to reading my book. Then about 20 minutes later I stand up and start walking toward the hotel and it unsnaps again. And this time I am not lucky enough to catch it…. I was soooooooo mortified, because I know there are a ton of people from my ship all around. So I’m just waiting for someone to come up and be like “I saw you were having some bathing suit problems LT!” The people I was with spent the rest of the weekend making underhanded comments about my “wardrobe malfunction.” J
Then of course to top it off, the ATM machine ate my card. So it was a pretty eventful weekend… anyway, I need to go eat something because I am incredibly hungover… I don’t know why I thought it was a good idea to do shots last night (followed of course by dancing on a chair)...
(and that's all i've got for now. the hangover luckily went away by late the next afternoon...)
