HGTV
Guess who got a call from a Casting Director for HGTV? This girl! I'm doubtful that it will turn into anything, but I'm just going to savor the moment. He connected with me via FB, by way of another well-known rehabber that I'm friends with. So that's cool. They're looking for a rehabbing duo to host some shows, and wanted to know if I'd be interested. Uhhhh.... yea! Matt Shea would obviously be my eye-candy sidekick if it panned out. They can take lots of videos of his pretty self installing my kitchens. McD, you don't mind if he takes a small hiatus from rocket science to be my handyman, right? :) They want to know that I can actually do some of the work as well, which of COURSE I can. I'm a flooring pro! I just hope Bill doesn't watch. He'll yell at me. :P
We're doing a super short Skype interview today. I figure it's a lot like me hiring my Sales guy - it may take a while to narrow down to the *right* one, but I bet he can tell within 2 minutes if it's the *wrong* person.

Update (later in the day)
Did the Skype interview, which was about 5 minutes of Matt and I chatting about our background, how we got into house flipping, how we run our projects, who's the boss, etc. He will edit it down to about 2 minutes and then forward along to the producers of the show. If they like us, they'll follow up with us. So that's cool. :) It's interesting - if I had been submitting a video online to be considered for a show, I would have over-prepared and made sure to be extra flamboyant. For this video, it was more like a chill conversation. They won't get to see the full range of ridiculous Beka, but that's OK. Even if it doesn't pan out, I'll always be able to tell *this* part of the story, which is pretty neat. Now back to my real work...
