ski and stay

This past weekend we did a 2-day ski & stay package at Sunday River.  And it was GREAT!  Naomi, Art, Monica, Tim, Matt, Brynna and I went along - what fun!  Our condo was slopeside - looking right out onto the Chondola :)  And we had a fire place and kitchen and everything.  The conditions were perfect, and it was nice and sunny and fabulous.  I highly recommend it.  Cost per person was about $220.  Not too shabby...

Speaking of $$, an update on our month-long food budget challenge.  We're about 20 days in and it's safe to say that $250/person is not a realistic budget for fun loving city-folk.  Of the 15 people that agreed to participate in my experiment, about 11 of us are on track to overspend.  It's been a good gut check on my spending... do I really need that coffee?  Can I get off my butt to go grocery shopping and plan some meals instead of being lazy and eating out?  Looking at the numbers, it seems like $300-$350/person is more realistic.  The people that are budget superstars also happen to be the homeowners.  Coincidence?  Probably not :)

Other than that, work has been insanely busy lately.  Plus the past 2 weekends we've had fun skiing vacations.  MLK weekend a group of us went up to visit the McD's in VT.  We took total advantage of having baby-friendly people around and used the opportunity to hit up Smugglers Notch.  That and a good old fashioned hangover and the weekend was complete!

This upcoming weekend we've got no plans and THAT is exciting.  Maybe we'll make good on our Children's Museum membership and go for a stroll in Boston.  Sounds deliciously lazy :)
