Longer than I meant to between posts, but what's a girl to do?
Right now I've got to whip out the GCalendar in order to remember what fun and exciting adventures I've been on since I last wrote. (GCalendars are fabulous.)
Oh yea! As promised, for Matt's bday we partied it up in style. The bowling crew ended up being more than 4 (hooray!) and I have to say that I quite enjoy candlepin bowling. It's like skeeball on crack (with whacked out scoring). Still enjoy 10-pin more, but for a cheap and local night out, that place rocked.

Brynna and I left the bowling a few minutes early in order to head back to the house and pull the lasagna out of the oven. And apparently took Matt Shea's shoes with us in the stroller, thus leaving him to enjoy the pleasures of a rainy Somerville night barefoot. Eventually peeps arrived and we commenced the eating and drinking portion of the evening... Much GGE was played, with special birthday rules that allowed Matt to play every game if he wanted and thus get exceedingly shmammered. Mission: Success. I also had purchased a tasty birthday cake that unfortunately couldn't compete with a booze-filled fridge. To give it a purpose in life, drunk Beka decided that it would make a fabulous accessory to Naomi's blue Corolla. That was such a smashing success that I decided all the taxis driving by also needed to be caked (much to Art's and Agnes's delight!) The next day it was apparent that no car in a 10 foot radius from our porch survived my redecorating. And neither did the porch, front door, siding....
Of course, no birthday party would be complete without a pinata. Monica was kind enough to provide a gentle looking turtle stocked full of hangover goodies - aleve, water, candy... you know, the usual pharmacist created paper mache creation.
This past weekend we chillaxed. Cati Knab came into town for the weekend so we got to hang out Saturday morning/afternoon with her and enjoy the fine local cuisine and some awesome Rock Band. She filled us in on her amazing version of Beer Olympics, and I have to admit to being superbly impressed. I can't wait to try and top them! :P Saturday night we drove out to see Matt's mom and go to the Big E. (For you non-New-Englanders, it's like a really really hugilicious fair that goes on for a couple weeks every year. Each New England state has a building to show off their goodies, there's a few buildings dedicated to steroidal livestock, a horse ring, and lots of rides, music, and fried foods.) I also got to play the Wii that his mom had bought. (Moms buying video game systems! Weird!) On our way back we stopped briefly in Woo to say hi Cati and Susie who were playing in an Alumni soccer game. All in all, a raging success of a weekend.
(While walking around campus with Brynna, Matt kept whispering at undergrads who walked by "This could be you in 9 months!" I'm sure the visiting parents LOVED that...)
