A 3 week update

I was told I've been slacking on the blogging, so it's time to get back on the horse. To summarize my travel diva lifestyle of the past 2 weeks, I'm afraid I have to rely on my trusty Google calendar for a recap. Let's see...

3 Sunday's ago I ran the Boston half marathon along with Matt, Naomi, Shakes, and Chris. I personally thought it kicked ass. Since it was the first time Matt, Naomi, and Shakes ever ran 13 miles straight, I would have to guess they think they kicked ass too. :) I managed to take 18 minutes of my personal best time to come in at 2:06. Yay!! Not sure if I'll be able to beat that at the Philly half in November, since I haven't exactly been running in the past 2 weeks...

The following weekend Elaine and Becky Brown came up to Boston for a weekend of silly shenanigans. Friday night a group of us went to see everyone's girlfriend - Kristen - and her fabulous band - the Noise. Henceforth referred to as simply KaTN. In case you didn't know, I am quite content to be a band groupie. There is nothing better than standing right next to the stage, dancing like a wild woman, and singing along at the top of your lungs. :) Saturday we enjoyed the perfectly clear day by wandering around the Prudential Center, followed by yet another successful dinner party. A great roast of rump, potatoes, veggies, wine, karaoke, beirut, and doorframe pullups. What more could you ask for? Since those festivities didn't end until somewhere around 6 am, we were pretty useless on Sunday, and that concluded another great weekend.

Last week I went down to our Shelton, CT office, to get an inside view of what it takes to get a multi-million dollar project out the door... There was a lot of proofreading, last minute finagling, and dining out (what else do you do when cooped up with the same 5 people for 3 days straight?) and all-in-all, I'd say it was a good experience. It was good to step outside my small department and get a feel for the company and industry as a whole. It was good to finally put faces to people I've only known through a phone line. It was also good to meet our crazy president and hear his life stories. :)

This past weekend was nice and calm. The weather was bright and clear and sunny, and completely wonderful. Saturday Matt and I roamed around downtown and helped try to set the Guinness World Record for jack-o'-lanterns. Check it out! Then we headed out to the White Tavern to watch the Red Sox kick ass on Game 6 and stumbled home around midnight... Sunday we went to see another Boston claim to fame, the Head of the Charles Regatta, which is a 2 day event that brings in rowing teams from all over the world and inspires an almost fair-like atmosphere along the river...

This weekend we're heading down to VA to see our house and get it ready for new tenants. Which, by the way, we don't have lined up yet. Suxor. If you know someone moving to Hampton, Va, I've got the perfect place for them.... :)

Oh! And tonight I'm heading to orientation for Habitat for Humanity. I am psyched! I know, it's a boring life, but someone has to live it.
