HASH

As my life gets funner, my blog gets emptier. Sorry about that. (and the bad grammar too!)

This past weekend was Memorial Day and indeed it was memorable. Well, ok, Friday night must have been chill because I don't remember it. But Saturday we went to Earthfest and lazed about listening to live bands and eating free healthy food. The final 2 performers (and the only 2 I really knew) were KT Tunstall and Guster. AWE-SOME. The weather was sunny and warm, we managed to pull up a piece of grass right along the water's edge and in the shade even, and the people watching was plentiful. On our way back to the ranch we stopped and grabbed some food at Cambridge Common and then finished our trek at home with a quiet night in.

Sunday, now Sunday is where it got REALLY good. In honor of Shakes' bday we planned a surprise hash. Only, most of the people invited wussed out when they heard that it involved running. (The drinking part they had down.) And I just couldn't convey in words how fun it was going to be, so the group was limited to the few and the brave, and we did it up right. Regan, Naomi, Matt, Rich, Shakes... I salute you. Femino and Nicole, you get a salute as well for being our faithful beer wenches. Hashing, for you lay people, starts in a circle. Then 2 people (called the "hares") take off ahead of the group, armed with chalk. We then draw arrows on the sidewalk throughout the city to make a bit of a scavenger hunt, complete with fake trails and all. To make things a little more interesting, I decided to write instructions for each of the hashers at different intersections. These included (but were not limited to) cartwheels, singing, indian runs... you get the point. And what are you running to? BEER of course! Now that I've given you a synopsis, check out the pictures - link at the top left. Album 2007 - Memorial Day weekend.

After the hash we stumbled back to the apartment to have a post-festivity BBQ, where the rest of the gang met up. After much dicing and marinading, we managed to make a dent in the 30 lb bag of potatoes and 20 lb bag of onions (yay Costco!). And of course, more drunken debauchery ensued, first in the form of beirut, later in the form of GGE. I would explain GGE, but I do believe I must accomplish *some* work before I leave for Vegas today at noon. Mwahahahahaha!

Oh! Watch my birthday present to Shakes!
