The Long Overdue Update
Well, we all know the holidays are comprised of running around after presents or small children, and of course overfilling your schedule, so I'm sure you all haven't even noticed my lack of blog. :)
Let's do a good little summary, but first:
CONGRATS TO BETH ANNE AND DAVE
on welcoming in New Year baby
Julie Alice Lesshaft
at 3:58 a.m. on January 1st.
Isn't she beautiful? (and Beth Anne, too!)

Now, on to the rest...Matt and I flew back to PA on Fri, Dec 22nd. You would expect a ton of lines and waiting and pain, but no. We flew out of Manchester, NH, and it was the most painless experience ever. Oh, except for Elaine and I getting into a shouting match on the cell phone when she tried to pick us up in Philly. "Beka, there is NO TERMINAL F! I'M AT THE AIRPORT EXIT!" "Yes, there IS a Terminal F! I'm standing at it! I know it!" Ahhh, good times.
My parents adopted 2 seminarians for a few weeks while the school was closed, and between them and the rest of the family, we had a packed house. Santa (and the husband and family :)) was extremely kind to us. I got all sorts of fun clothes, outdoorsey gear, and lift/show tickets. Life is good! Julie and Paul also flew over for the holidays and the arrival of Baby Julie (who, by the way, was a week and a half late), so I changed my plane ticket to a train ticket and stayed an extra 2 days down in PA to visit with them. (During which time I of course "worked from home". :)) Paul made a fabulous roast lamb and we decided he should open a Pub when he gets out of the Royal Navy. I of course will be the entertainment, because...
Friday I picked up my violin! Now I just need to find a fiddle teacher to deal with me and I'm all set! My goal is to have at least one lesson under my belt by the end of next week.
This past weekend we went to celebrate Christmas with Matt's Mom, and reintroduced her and his stepdad to the wonderful world of bowling. Sunday on our way home to Boston we took a "slight" detour (read - an hour and a half) to Mohegan Sun. I was very dissappointed to find out they pretty much never have $5 Black Jack tables (and there is no way I'm blowing $15 on a hand. I'm just not that rich.) So instead I gave $40 to the craps table and $40 to the slot machines and called it a day. :) I miss Vegas. *tear*
For New Years Eve we went the Chez Reger and partied it up like the fools we are. Carla made some fabulous finger foods, there was enough champagne to float a barge, and the wild festivities continuued into the wee wee wee hours. I tapped out around 3:15 but my husband didn't crawl into the air mattress until like 5:30.
Yesterday we had hours of silence in honor of the "Day of the National Hangover" and today - today I'm finally being productive. :)
